Is there an interesting story behind your username? When I was a kid, I found The Book of Runes on a bookshelf my dad's study that I wasn't supposed to be snooping around in, so naturally read most of the stuff there cover-to-cover. I chose the rune teiwaz as part of an LJ username pre-fandom; when I found fandom, I was really taken with the idea of people choosing fandom identities that became second names, and shortened it to "tei."

Location and language(s): The Canadian Prairies; English primarily, relatively fluent in French.

Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.): Late 20s

Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending: Bigotry and being an anti, I suppose, though I've honestly never encountered much of that sort of thing on Dreamwidth.

Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.? I have an intro post that's the only unlocked entry on my journal.

Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful? It doesn't have much on it, but there are links to my other social media accounts.

List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away: I often write posts with multiple subjects in the same post-- apparently some people don't like that style because they feel awkward only commenting about one thing if they don't have anything to say about the others. I don't mind at all if you comment just about one thing, in fact that's my intention.

You mostly write about: The three major themes are fandom (Sherlock Holmes and Good Omens, at the moment), gymnastics (I started training seriously at 23, and it's now a huge part of my life), and my work (I'm a professional classical musician.)

You never or very rarely write about: No topics are really off-limits, but I don't write about politics or fandom wank often.

Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked? All locked, with the exception of the intro post.

Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)? No.

Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.):Probably on average every few days.

Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? Not frequently, but sure, sometimes.

What do you enjoy most about journaling? Having a record of my life. Dreamwidth is my oldest online account (nuked my LJ, sadly) and it has a lot of stuff about me when I was a teen that I wouldn't have recorded anywhere else.

How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)? Daily

You really enjoy reading about: Fandom stuff and whatever makes daily life interesting for you.

You have very little interest in reading about: If you would tag it "discourse" on tumblr, I'm probably not here for it.

Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? Fine. I mean, I suppose it depends what it's about? Interesting stuff presented halfway coherently is always fine.

When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity? If I wanted lots of content-free content, I'd go to tumblr.

Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly? No, I don't care.

What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals? I try to comment when I have something to say!

When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances? I don't want a note saying you're unfriending me.

AND LASTLY

Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general? I'm more likely to write about fanworks (both stuff I'm reading and stuff I've written), but I do post about fandom stuff pretty often.

Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends?
