pastelsparrowIs there an interesting story behind your username? It was my Wi-fi password that came preset over 10 years ago. I liked it, so it stuck.
Location and language(s): Illinois, USA. I speak English but can also read French.
Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.): I'm in my 30's.
Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending: Racism, homophobia, sexism
Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.? I have something on my profile currently. I plan to eventually make a post.
Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful? Yes.
List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away: I'm a lesbian. I'm getting my BA in English and minoring in Political Science. The world, on occasion, frustrates me. I post about it. I also post about mental health things. My journal here is fairly new, but There will be posts.
You mostly write about: This journal is fairly new, but my life, things I think about, and possibly eventually papers I've written in school and short stories.
You never or very rarely write about: Very specific information that may give away who I am or who people I'm writing about are by name. I like a level of anonymity.
Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked? Mostly locked.
Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)? No. I generally don't give TW either. If the topic was particularly graphic or in a lot of detail, I would.
Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.): Multiple times a week.
Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? I imagine there will be a time when photos make it. But currently there are none.
What do you enjoy most about journaling? Being able to sort through things in my head. Preserving memories.
How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)? I'm just starting this, but it will be daily. I'm from the LJ era and was very active.
You really enjoy reading about: anything really. I'm extremely curious.
You have very little interest in reading about: there really isn't much.
Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? I'd be fine with it.
When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity? If I posted something that made someone feel like commenting, that would be cool. I don't have any expectations here.
Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly? No.
What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals? I'm generally pretty active. As far as frequency or length, it would depend on what was posted.
When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances? I don't think I would unfriend someone for not "clicking" with me. I think I'd still be interested enough to read. I don't have a preference in how someone unfriended me for these circumstances. If I offended someone unintentionally or something, I'd like to know so I'd be given the opportunity to take accountability and apologize, but I wouldn't feel owed that.
AND LASTLY
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general? Not really. I've been reading Dungeon Crawler Carl currently. I read a lot. I don't know that I'd delve into anything so deep as to give spoilers or anything. If I did, I'd use a cut and a spoiler warning.
Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends? I'm excited to be back here.
