Hi.
Is there an interesting story behind your username?
I'm head over heels for Paul Reubens. So naturally... I had to take his last name :) I used to be niko_altman, but just renamed my blog today.
Location and language(s):
Boring ass Ohio, I speak English and some Russian.
Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.):
I myself am in my mid-30s. I seem a lot younger because of my personality and the fact I look young.
As for adding me, I'd prefer no one under 18! I'd prefer people 30+, but if you're 25+ that's okay.
Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending:
I do not want Trump supporters/MAGA people, bigots (especially transphobes), anti-Zionists, antisemites, or terrorist sympathizers friending me.
Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.?
Yes. I recommend reading my stickied about me post, and also reading my profile.
Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful?
Yes, I just recently revamped it, and it gives a better feel of who I am and what you'll see on my journal.
List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away:
1. I'm Jewish.
2. I'm trans.
3. I'm autistic and post a lot of special interest things.
My special interests, video games, repairing retro game systems, my fanfiction, my beloved Paul Reubens, and a lot of other stuff.
You never or very rarely write about:
Hm... idk.
Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked?
A mix. Other things are filtered to a small few on my list, as it's very personal in nature and these few understand me.
Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)?
Yes.
Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.):
Whenever. Sometimes daily, sometimes multiple times a day, sometimes every few days... it depends.
Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
Photos are frequent. Memes sometime.
What do you enjoy most about journaling?
Communicating with my friends here. Getting things out of my mush-brain.
How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)?
Daily. Don't always have the spoons to comment though.
You really enjoy reading about:
Everything, tbh,
You have very little interest in reading about:
IDK. I haven't figured it out yet. 🤣
Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
Fun!
When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity?
Quality.
Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly?
No, because I understand they may not have the spoons to comment, just like me.
What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals?
? I comment when I have the spoons, or if something is interesting, or if I just feel like it.
When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances?
Without warning, unless we've been friends a while, then I'll send a message. I don't like to be cut from people's friends out of the blue, so I try to treat others how I'd want to be treated.
AND LASTLY
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general?
I regularly post about Pee-wee's Playhouse, and have been doing a watch along/review posting with the episodes. So there's that. I don't think that there's anything that I don't journal about in a way that isn't "fandom sort of way".
Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends?
Just to reiterate, it's highly important to read my profile and my sticky about post before friending me. Both of those things are full of information that will help you decide whether or not you want to follow and friend me.
