THE MEME
Is there an interesting story behind your username?
"Coco" is part of the nickname "Coconut" that I've had since 12 or 13 years old. "Smiley" is my mom's nickname from her childhood. "Boo" is a nickname my mom gave me when I was a little girl.
Location and language(s):
American/Americanized English.
Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.):
I don't have any real age range limit, just be 18 years or older because I don't censor my journal. I myself am 35 years old.
Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending:
Just don't be an asshole and we'll be fine.
Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.?
I was thinking about writing one.
Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful?
It's a few years outdated. I might go fix it up some.
List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away:
I'm trying to be more active on here. That includes reading my friends page and commenting where I see fit, but definitely more often!
You mostly write about:
My life in general.
You never or very rarely write about:
There isn't much that is "off limits" with me.
Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked?
Friends Only
Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)?
I try to keep my filters/tags organized.
Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.):
Randomly when I feel like posting.
Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
It can... and might in the future. I miss posting a lot, so I don't like limiting myself in content.
What do you enjoy most about journaling?
Being able to say what I want. Also helps decompress for my mental health and reexamine things that happened and whatnot.
How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)?
I'm going to try for once a week, but I would like to check in daily. We'll see what I manage.
You really enjoy reading about:
There isn't much I don't enjoy reading. I like making connections with people, though.
You have very little interest in reading about:
Fandoms I haven't heard of.
Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
Depends on the content, I suppose.
When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity?
Both matter equally to me! If you don't think what you has to say has any importance, post it anyway because I value whatever you have to say!
Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly?
Nope.
What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals?
I comment when I have something to say.
When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances?
I don't know... I don't usually unfriend people unless I notice they have unfriended me first.
AND LASTLY
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general?
Sometimes I will mention things I am reading/watching/listening to... but it's not the focus of my journal. But for example, right now I am reading about 20 books (no really) on my Kindle, watching The Vampire Diaries (one episode a night at dinnertime with my fiancé), and listening to the Run Fool! podcast on Spotify. Music, I listen to pretty much everything except gospel.
Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends?
I'm a nice person looking to make connections... friends, really. That being said, remember to hydrate!
