Is there an interesting story behind your username?

Maybe? It started as a private place for a few friends to talk about my mental health and diabetes and in scots it means 'everlasting. I was determined that I would outlast whatever was coming for me. I am not sure if that is cool, weird or boring tbh. You decide.

Location and language(s):

Scotland so English, Scottish- English, Scots, French and German though the latter are dodgy and some Spanish. Mostly I understand sports interviews and songs.

Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.): 27

Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending:

Most of the general isms. Don't be homophobic, xenophobic, anti semitic General 'don't be a berk' 101

Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.?
ayebydan.dreamwidth.org/59092.html

Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful?

I'd like to think so. Yes. I will go with yes.

List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away:

I am disabled with type one diabetes (plus may other gremlins) and I rant about it a lot. Sometimes it is part of a post and sometimes it is the only part of  a post.

I am very random.

You mostly write about:

Me and what I have done that day. Semi regular posts include links to my icon posts. I never link to my fic comm. I talk about my son a lot who is in fact a 6 year old lhasa apso dog who had a stroke last year. I'm queer so that comes up. WWE, sometimes films. Politics here and there. I am a mixed bag.

You never or very rarely write about:

TV shows?  I talk about wrestling sometimes which is a show and I talk about sports but I will not ramble about a weekly show. Mostly because none of us see it at the same time.

Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked?

Mostly locked. I committed to leaving my friday5s open and then that comm petered out. But if you circle me I'll circle back. I am not fussy.

Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)?

No but I will use trigger warnings for most things unless I know my list is okay without them. BUT I am always open to a pm requesting a tw pr cw which I will always respect, no explanation needed.

Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.):

I can go a week without posting and then post 5 times in a day. I am very random and sometimes spammy. Sorry.

Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?

I love all of these but I will always put most behind a cut because if anything I remember when the internet was a screaming phone connection.

What do you enjoy most about journaling?

Getting my thoughts out for sure. But also engaging with people from across the world over such diverse things. Some friends will talk to about wresting. Some will talk about politics. Some talk about Harry Potter.  It is so diverse yet so fulfilling.

How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)?

If not every day then absolutely every second.

You really enjoy reading about:
  • your life. i am one of those folks that is interested. XD
  • meta. pretty much any fandom? i find meta cool. come at me
  • pets, pics, stories of how they ruined your life. yes please
  • your fic. plot, ideas, pairs, fails, yes
  • where you live? general politics, how it works, all that

You have very little interest in reading about:

ok, I will sound like a horrible person but small children? If part of your post is 'X learned to Do Y today and I am so proud' then sure, cool. But if your whole journal is a diary of your small children growing into a bigger person then I am not interested. I'm child free. It is not my thing. DO your thing. Love you for it. But, not for me

Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?

Cool! Will probably steal to copy most of it.

When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity?

I don't know. You may get a quantity of comments you don't want to be friends with.Or maybe without that large group you would not make a large group of friends either way. I guess quantity allows you to find quality. But quality is each to their own.

Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly?

No, but I do cut access from people who give me no interaction as it triggers my anxiety,

What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals?

I try to comment as much as I can, even if it is just a heart or such to let the poster know I read and I

When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances?

I only uncircle people if we have not interacted for a long time and so I feel uncomfortable about them seeing my posts. I expect them to feel the same.

AND LASTLY

Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general?

Sports such as tennis, football, and f1 appear on a semi regular basis but nothing to write home about.

Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends?

Sometimes you just need a cuppa.
