coyoteclaw11: Haru looking Annoyed (Default)
[personal profile] coyoteclaw11 posting in [community profile] findingfriends
Is there an interesting story behind your username?
Way back in middle school, I was a huge fan of Warrior Cats (aka Warriors by Erin Hunter). I came up with the name "Coyoteclaw" for my "warrior cat-sona" (a silver tabby with blue eyes) because I just thought it sounded pretty. The 11 came into play when I was 11 (shocker!) and my email got hacked dfghjk It's never taken anywhere so I've kept it!

Location and language(s):
Seattle, WA, USA (I am a city person. If I can't walk to a convenience store at 3 am what's the POINT). I'm only fluent in English, but I'm trying to teach myself Japanese and often pepper random Spanish throughout my vocab (most of my close friends are Cuban so I definitely picked that up from them ;u; )

Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.):
Early 20s. It's weird and vaguely miserable, but I'm doing my best

Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending:
Hmm I've never had to unfriend anyone before? More often than not I'll unfollow people who post a lot about things I have no interest in. Maybe also drama and negative things. Vent posts are absolutely okay! But I don't really want to be constantly digging through negativity on my reading page :,o

Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.?
Tada! https://coyoteclaw11.dreamwidth.org/18689.html

Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful?
Not at all sfghj I just checked it and I last updated it when I was 16 sdfghjkl

List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away:
I tend to ramble! And I don't really write in a normal way? I picked up a lot of weird text habits from Tumblr and also I just tend to put words together in a weird way overall??? idk It's probably a bad habit but it's fun and I feel like it allows me to be really emotive in my text

You mostly write about:
Interesting things that happen to me... events I'm taking part in.... I also like to share my creative endeavors (mostly I draw, but I've been trying to write more). I do like to do those "questionoftheday" things. I think they're fun.

You never or very rarely write about:
People I know irl. Drama between me and other people... things like that. I also don't post a lot about fandom stuff, but maybe that would change if I Finally got a new obsession (I've been in a kinda limbo since 2013 :,o )

Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked?
Mostly public!

Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)?
I didn't even know DW had filters.

Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.):
I'd say every few days... ish? When I'm on. I do have a habit of disappearing for several months and that's kinda consistent across most platforms. That inconsistency is the One thing I can do consistently lmao

Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
Yes to memes and photos!

What do you enjoy most about journaling?
Idk it's fun to get my thoughts out and interact with others!

How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)?
L...like my reading page? When I'm "on" I'd say daily!

You really enjoy reading about:
Hmm. Idk if someone seems like a cool person, then it's rly interesting to read about the things going on in their life! Facts are also rly cool! I like informative things... which is why it's also rly cool when someone with a job idk a lot about posts about their work or someone in a different situation than me just posts about the kinds of things they encounter? It's neat stuff!

You have very little interest in reading about:
Interpersonal drama, relationships, things of that nature. I will also very, very rarely read fiction/fanfic from my reading page? Idk reading is one of those things I go through phases of, so I have to specifically be seeking it? (But I do like recs a lot! I have a whole doc full of fic recs that I refer to when I really wanna read!)

Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
I'm initially from Tumblr, so all those things are pretty standard to me! Memes are super neato and I might wanna do it myself! Linkspams sound Interesting and worth investigating! Gifs are... hmm. Idk if you make gifs that's super cool and I would def support your art! Reaction gifs are not Bad but they're definitely used best in moderation imo. Photos are fun!! I rarely watch videos ^^;

When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity?
I think... they're both pretty valid? It all depends on what the commenter is comfortable with honestly. I would like some interaction? But if you don't have anything to say, you don't have to force yourself

Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly?
Mmmmnope I don't particularly care.

What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals?
If I have something to say I will say it! The only time I'll really like push myself to comment even if I don't have much to share is for art. I like to encourage other artists ;o; Also I know posting your art and getting no response can be super scary and disheartening, so if I can I wanna at least find something I like about the drawing and say so!

When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances?
That's not something I've rly come across on DW yet, so I can't speak from experience! I'm very non-confrontational, so as nice as a note sounds in terms of being upfront, it's also really scary to me. I'd probably just quietly unfriend unless I'm specifically asked to do otherwise! If someone doesn't want me on their reading page anymore, they can approach that however they feel comfortable doing so!

AND LASTLY

Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general?
Not really, but I can't super say how I'd post if/when I do stumble upon a new obsession? I'll just say I tend towards anime fandoms, but it's really up in the air. My long-time lowkey fandom is Harry Potter, so that may resurface occasionally! I also tend towards m/m shipping

Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends?
Hallo, nice to meet you! I apologize if I come off pretty awkward in direct conversation, but I'd love to make new friends!
