hello from a tired~

Is there an interesting story behind your username? Not ... especially? It's the name of a WoW Shadow Priest that I haven't played in forever and a bit of a pun, depending on how you parse it.

Location and language(s): Southeastern US. Only fluent in English, have forgotten large swathes of my German vocabulary, still terrible at Japanese thanks to dropping out of my lessons

Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.): 40s

Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending: anti-LGBT rhetoric, Christian evangelizing, poor-shaming

Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.? nope, everybody gets tossed into the deep end together.

Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful? It's up to date, though how useful it is....

List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away: I'm queer, I'm disabled, I freelance when I can, and I write. A LOT.

You mostly write about: it's summer now, so the garden and my writing are always getting mentioned

You never or very rarely write about: sports of any kind

Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked? Almost entirely locked, mostly out of habit at this point, but also because I use the names of family and I don't censor myself on my own journal, meaning my DW is something I don't need my martyr mom getting ahold of to make herself even more of the victim.

Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)? I haven't in awhile now. I've thought about it a couple times, but generally run out of energy before making any of the sorts of posts I'd filter (in-depth paganism, forex)

Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.): Currently every day, twice on Mondays. I'm considering starting a Song of the Day series, if/when I do, it'll be twice a day so music posts are separate from life posts.

Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? music posts almost always include a YT embed. Sometimes I do memes, but I don't know if not quite once a week counts as frequent. :p

What do you enjoy most about journaling? it's a good way to empty my brain of things that need out

How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)? at least once a day

You really enjoy reading about: lots of things... if the author is passionate and factually accurate, that helps ;)

You have very little interest in reading about: sports, teeth, hatefulness

Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? your journal, you do you~

When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity? quality. I am myself bad to not comment, so I don't expect anyone to comment on my stuff unless they feel they have a meaningful contribution, even if it's just to reassure me I've been heard.

Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly? nope. see also: above

What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals? I tend to be a quiet reader. If I have something to add, then I probably will, but a lot of times I just read and go on.

When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances? I ... haven't really had to do this in awhile? But if we don't click, an unfriending with a note so I know what's going on is fine.

AND LASTLY

Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general? I feel like this is where I should put in BIG BLINKING LETTERS (no, I won't actually do that) that I write RPF in the Jrock fandom. A LOT. And honestly? A lot of that is because, out of all my many, many fandoms (I've been living the fandom life for over 20 years now), it's been one of the most responsive without pushing me into a burnout. So. I mean, I do write about other things (like my original fiction), but Jrock/Visual Kei is kinda my brand and thing.

Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends? My disability includes cognitive defects/impairments that can come and go (concussions are fun! not), and I often get overwhelmed by Wall-o-Text posts. Also, I think I just used up a huge chunk of my social spoons for the day just writing this, so, um. Hi.

Hi, you seem interesting! Mind if I add? I don't know if you wish to have a lot of fandom overlap, in which case my journal might be boring (you can see what I currently like just glancing at it) but at least I don't write about sports or teeth ;)
