Is there an interesting story behind your username?
It's the name of one of my ex-budgies.
Location and language(s):
Australia, English.
Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.):
30s.
Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending:
The usual stuff that everyone on here has listed. But also, anything taken to the extreme. You know those real crazies you see on tumblr that decide that a particular sex/gender/orientation/political opinion/religion/whatever has to die because they don't like them? (The KillAllMen hashtag is one I see quite often, in particular.) That kind of thing. Live and let live. If you don't like it, scroll on past.
Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.?
I do! Right here.
Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful?
Nope. But the About Me is.
List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away:
I am loud. I tend to talk a lot, if you get me on a topic I like. I occasionally lack a filter between my mouth and my brain, but that is much better online, since I have to write it out instead of just blurting.
You mostly write about:
I write HP fan fiction. I do a "what I am doing" post each week on Mondays. All of my personal posts are friends-locked. When I do post locked things, it's usually about myself or my dog (a crazy rescue dog, with many issues. But he is gorgeous, I swear!).
You never or very rarely write about:
Politics, religion.
Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked?
Mixed. Personal posts that may give away my identity to people I know are all locked. Fandom and random memes are unlocked.
Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)?
No.
Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.):
At least once a week. Even if I don't post anything else, I do try to post the weekly what I am up to post.
Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
Not frequently. Occasionally I will post a random post of real life pictures, or do a question meme, but it's not often. And, if I do, it will be under a cut.
What do you enjoy most about journaling?
Finding people who think the same way I do.
How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)?
Daily.
You really enjoy reading about:
I friended most of the people on my flist because of HP fandom, so fics and art definitely. But if I am friends with someone, I will read what they post anyway.
You have very little interest in reading about:
The same as the unfriending question above: extremes of any kind.
Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
As long as they are under cuts so they don't screw around with my data, or whatever, I have no issues with them. If, however, someone posts a lot of gifs or vids just in the feed and it takes me five minutes to scroll past, that's an issue.
When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity?
I like all comments! I respond to everything. If you just want to drop in with a smiley face, that's cool with me. :)
Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly?
No, that sounds counter-productive.
What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals?
If I like what I have read/seen and have something to say, then I say it. If I either didn't like it, or don't have anything to say, then I don't comment.
When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances?
I have never unfriended anyone on a journaling service, no matter which one. But if someone I haven't really had any kind of interactions with randomly sends me a PM saying that they are unfriending me, that would be awkward. I feel that any response I could make there would sound unbelievably sarcastic.
AND LASTLY
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general?
Well, I obviously write HP fics, so I post them here. I have, very rarely, posted about books. I tend to not talk much about TV shows and movies on here, though.
Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends?
I think I should warn you that I swear a lot? I am also incredibly fascinated with the weather, so I might talk about that as well, especially in the Aussie summer. I have also posted a few crafty posts over the years. Not often, but I will post about jewellery I've made, or random toys, or books. :)

Date: 2019-06-30 12:30 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think we have enough in common. Most of my posts are about HP at the moment (when I actually manage to get past my current writer's block -_-), so if you can put up with them and the occasional flail post about my dog, then I think it's good. :)
