Is there an interesting story behind your username? Nope. It's just my nickname (sans the 81)
Location and language(s): Midwestern United States. I mainly speak English, but I do know a few Tagalog words and phrases
Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.): I'm in my forties
Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending: Bigotry. Especially racism, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism
Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.? Not a post, but I did fill in the About Me that section on my profile
Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful? Yes
List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away: I'm severely disabled to the point that I qualify as a quadriplegic. Can be opinionated. I want to be understood, not pitied
You mostly write about: Whatever is on my mind or documenting my day. I also plan on posting some of my writing
You never or very rarely write about: Most likely I'll never write stories featuring straight folk as main characters. Or, I would very rarely write those stories
Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked? It's going to be a mix of public and locked. Some of the stories I want to post will be NSFW
Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)? Yes. Or, at the least, they would be tagged and/or placed behind a cut
Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.): Sporadic at best. Sometimes it will be daily, but most likely it will be anywhere between every few days and weekly
Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? It probably will at some point. Although, I doubt I'm going linkspam very much
What do you enjoy most about journaling? Not only does it give me something to do, but it gives me a chance to practice some writing. I also like the social aspect of blogging
How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)? I try to look at least every other day. Failing that, once a week. However, I definitely take a look when I go on the site
You really enjoy reading about: In regards to blogs, anything relatable. If we're talking books, definitely fantasy
You have very little interest in reading about: Conservative politics
Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? I have no issues with any of these
When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity? Quality
Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly? No. The reasons I may unfriend someone is either because they are being offensive, I find them unpleasant, or we have a falling out. I rarely drop people (though I might drift away if we don't talk enough)
What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals? I'll usually comment on anything that catches my eye. But, if I don't comment, that doesn't mean I didn't like the post. Sometimes I just can't think of anything to say
When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances? Usually I'll unfriend without warning. The only time I prefer to be unfriended with a note is if I did something hurtful
AND LASTLY
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general? I don't write about that stuff often, but I might make mention of stuff I like
Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends? Wolf Parade is an awesome band!
