Is there an interesting story behind your username?
My username came from more of a reflection, gloom and rainbows is a reflection of my almost ever-present optimism amid the darker backdrop of my mental health, traumatic experiences and sense of humour - some of which I write about (with filters.) I may change it in the future, but for now I'm okay with it.

Location and language(s):
England/English
American/English

Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.):
I'm open to anyone over 20+ for friends, I am currently in my 40s.

Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending:
Racism, sexism, fatphobia, and right wing political viewpoints.

Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.?
I have a bit about me on my profile, but not a specific post about it.

Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful?
Pretty up to date.

List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away:
My posting can be sporadic, but I do tend to log in to read people's journals and leave comments - even if it's just to let you know I'm stopping by. Sometimes I don't know what to say and socially I feel friendly but quite awkward at times.

You mostly write about:
My day to day experiences, travel, my hobbies, and reflections about the state of my mental health and emotions

You never or very rarely write about:
Fandoms, fiction

Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked?
Friends only

Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)?
I do use cuts for content that I think may make people uncomfortable, plus some filters for sensitivity/privacy of posts

Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.):
Sporadically but semi-regularly

Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
Photos mostly and an occasional meme

What do you enjoy most about journaling?
Getting the thoughts out of my head and into a post, sharing my experiences and connecting with others

How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)?
If I'm honest probably once a week or so, but I'd like to more.

You really enjoy reading about:
What's on people's mind, what are you up to? Let's hear about your special interests and experiences

You have very little interest in reading about:
I'm pretty open actually.

Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
I'm okay with it, except for if it's literal spam.

When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity?
I just enjoy when people feel like they can interact and want to respond, I'm not keeping tracking of quantity but it's nice to know people are reading.

Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly?
No

What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals?
I try to comment when I have something to say, and occasionally will just to let people know I'm still around and reading - if I can't think of what to say

When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances?
Feel free to unfriend me at any time, if you're just not feeling it.

AND LASTLY
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general?
Nope. Occasionally I may list what I'm reading or watching but that's about it.

Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends?
Looking forward to meeting some new friends here, and hope you're having a good day!
