Is there an interesting story behind your username? Nope! It's just part of my personality, though my job is to be a funny futz, not a mean one. I poke fun at my fandoms and favorite things playfully. I try not to complain much anymore, though. Nothing sucks more than making serious business out of fandom. And besides, online, I go by Risa.
Location and language(s): United States, US English and some Spanish
Age range: I'm 30, but I'll be friends with anyone who's mature and fun.
Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending: It almost goes without saying in fandom spaces like these that most flavors of bigotry are no good, but lets go deeper. I don't tolerate harassment and bullying of any sort, for any reason, from anyone, period, especially if it involves ship bashing, or kink shaming. Anti's who make "call out" posts? I'm looking at you. Also, I don't want to hear about why "men suck" or "cis people suck" or whatever. I'm done listening to that shit. It needs to stop.
Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful? LOL, not really. I have a massive list of interests, though, and lots of icons. Pretty much anything you see is fair game to talk about.
List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away: I am a workaholic and I lose track of time. I have been known to disappear for months at a time. This is only because I fall out of the habit of updating my journal. Now that I'm getting back in the habit of updating my journal, you'll be seeing more of me around. I write lots of fic and meme a lot, too.
You mostly write about: Fannish things and hobbies. I try not to talk about work so much anymore, because it's bad enough I have to live it. I don't really want to relive it online, you know? Besides, that's what facebook's for.
You never or very rarely write about: I used to use my journal to talk about my mood and my IRL relationships/issues/worries/etc., but I don't want to use this platform for that anymore. I'm trying to shift more into writing and creativity for the fun of it. I've found more useful (for me) ways to manage my mental health, but you'd better believe I understand the value of having people online to talk about all that stuff. Your thoughts and concerns are always safe with me. Chef don't judge.
Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked? Mostly public. I won't say I never do locked posts, but rarely.
Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)? No. I'm pretty easy-going about whatever folks post about. The only things I can't stand are bullying and harassment. Not talk of bullying and harassment, but actual bullying and harassment. That'll piss me off right quick.
Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.): I'm gonna say every few days at this point, but I'm looking at updating maybe 2-3 times daily as my goal.
Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? I embed youtube videos from time to time. I love memes and post a lot of them, especially ones pertaining to writing and shipping! Not many gifs, but if I use them I'll put them under a cut, most likely.
What do you enjoy most about journaling? Being in the writing habit and keeping myself accountable for engaging in fun hobbies so I'm not just burning myself out with work and responsibilities all the time.
How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)? Daily, which sadly isn't hard. Not everyone posts on DW frequently. Heck, it's a wagon I've fallen off of at times.
You really enjoy reading about: Other people's hobbies. What they're cooking. What games they're playing. What they're writing. What animals they encounter. I like to know what people are up to. It helps me remind myself to have more fun.
You have very little interest in reading about: Pettiness, complaints, criticism, people talking shit about each other, people bashing media they hate, etc. Meh. Or, to put it more briefly, I'm sick of reading about, or listening to what people hate, and will very likely ignore it. I want friends who are less about that hate and more about live and let live.
Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? Hey, include anything you want in your journals. It's your world! You ought to post whatever you want. Don't let my preferences stop you.
When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity? I appreciate both, because I'm entitled to neither. I guess if I had a preference, I'd go for quantity. Part of why I'm here is because I want to talk to people. The more comments, the better. Don't be shy!
Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly? No.
What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals? If anything stands out about the post and I want to chime in, I will. It's usually a joke, some insight, or something fairly neutral, though. I'll offer Internet hugs for people who need them, too.
When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances? I would just unfriend silently, and when I do it's usually nothing personal. You can just unfriend me, too, if you need to. No explanation needed. It's all good.
AND LASTLY
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general? I'd say the fandom I talk most about is South Park, but I like all sorts of cartoons, video games, etc. Heck, just look at my interests list. We'll talk any fandoms you want, including ones I'm not part of. I have plenty of generic enough posts where you can chime in with something off topic. Doesn't bother me.
Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends? I'm hopelessly obsessed with cooking videos on YouTube right now, and I also love Gordon Ramsay. If you have recipes that you love, send them my way anytime! I do a bit of cooking myself.

Date: 2019-06-23 02:42 am (UTC)Kitchen Nightmares is so good! I love how every episode is basically:
Owner: Gordon will love my food, my restaurant is great, my cooking is awesome
Gordon: Your food is shit
Owner: *shocked Pikachu face*
It's all so formulaic but I don't care, I love it. XD
