Hi there!
Is there an interesting story behind your username?
BewilderedBird just stems from the fact that I like birds and I often feel very confused about the state of the world. Marin is the first "real" and actually developed character I ever came up with when I was ten and her name became my nick name.

Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending:
Being extremely political (left or right or whatever), discriminatory in any way. Generally being an asshole. We can talk about anything, just be civil about it.
Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.?

Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful?
Don't know if it's useful but it should be up-to-date.
List a few things you think are important new friends know about you right away:
See my intro post:
- Mostly asexual, so not interested in explicit NSFW stuff, but anything romantic, nudity included, is fine
- Non-political as I see Dreamwidth as a refuge from the horrors of the world.
- I dealt with severe depression and anxiety during my teenage and early adult years and while it got a lot better it still affects me in certain situations and so might be a topic I write about
You mostly write about:
I write more about my personal view on things, art, life as it happens and about memories than I do about fandoms or entertainment in general.
You never or very rarely write about:
Politics, fandoms.
Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked?
For now everything is public but I might lock posts in the future if I feel they contain information I don't want out in the open.
Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)?
If I delve deep into mental health or any other topics that I believe people might want to avoid, I will use cuts. Other than that, not really.
Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.):
Every few days if I'm in a very good mood, otherwise weekly.
Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
No.
What do you enjoy most about journaling?
Taking the time to formulate your thoughts. Social media trained us to be fast, to never have time for anything, to have a short attention span. Journaling is the exact opposite and I feel like it's meditation for the brain sometimes. You simply get to know yourself better.
How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)?
Daily.
You really enjoy reading about:
Just the lives of different people, what others enjoy, what they avoid, what their hobbies are, their dreams and wishes, their fears, their achievements and their thoughts about life. And if there's art or general creativity involved in any capacity, I enjoy that even more.
You have very little interest in reading about:
Politics, fandoms.
Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc?
Not my cup of tea if that's all there is. I love memes, photos, etc, but I don't want to be bombarded.
When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity?
Quality. But if you just have a one-word-comment because you can't think of anything, that's completely fine.
Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly?
No, never. Please don't feel pressured into commenting. If you just enjoy reading, that makes me so happy.
What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals?
I'm very introverted and have a hard time being social, although it got a lot better over the past years. But more often than not, I don't really know what to add to a topic. I read every entry though!
When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances?
If we had a good relationship beforehand, I will write a note but if we never really interacted I will just unfriend. You can handle that in any way you prefer. No judgment.
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general?
I only write about media if it impacts me and even then maybe once or twice and that's it. My hyper hyper fandom phase is behind me.
Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends?
